Empower our youth with a donation to WMOCRadio.net!

Now more than ever, the youth in our community find themselves at a crossroads. There are more choices, more paths, and more opportunities for positive and negative influence than ever before. All too often, they are left without guidance, feeling as though they are not being presented with a choice.
At Mount Olive Baptist Church, we are not telling the youth of tomorrow what choices to make. We are empowering them to learn to make the right choices themselves.
Pastor Gregory Jackson
Our primary goal for establishing WMOCRadio.net (our Internet-based radio station), for our youth is to provide students with an educational tool they can utilize to strengthen not only their academic skills, but social skills and self-esteem as well.
The basis of radio is, of course, public speaking. The art of public speaking is as old as humanity itself, and is an invaluable skill for building confidence and self-esteem for anyone who can master it, especially the youth of today.
Enter WMOC Radio. Our primary goal for establishing an Internet-based radio station for our youth is to provide students with an educational tool they can utilize to strengthen not only their academic skills, but social skills and self-esteem as well.
Through WMOC Radio, we intend to develop a three-part partnership with schools, local businesses, and the community at large that will provide parents, teachers and students extra awareness of what is happening around them. This partnership will allow students and the community a “home base” to become aware of school activities, positive extra-curricular activities, and various forms of community service.

WMOC Radio Sponsor Program
Local businesses will also have the opportunity to directly aid the youth of WMOC Radio through financial sponsorship, which will go directly to WMOC-related expenses (to keep our student DJs on the air) and scholarship funding.
By presenting students with an open communications forum like WMOCRadio.net to speak to their peers, their families, and their community as a whole, we hope to foster the strength that these young people already have inside of them and teach them that no matter where they go in life, they can always speak for the common good.

"For over 119 years, Mount Olive Baptist Church has attempted to be at the cross roads of life in Bergen County. In 1889, we were originally founded as an African American congregation. Today, although we are still largely African American, we now see ourselves as a congregation open to all people."
